Hitachi Autumn Flower Festival, Ushiku Great Buddha & Fruit Picking with BBQ Lunch

1. This bus tour visits a famous spot for viewing colored leaves in the outskirts of Tokyo, and the impressive Ushiku Great Buddha– spots that can be tricky to visit alone.
2. Seasonally limited viewing! See the green hills and fields carpeted with bright red kochias and cosmos flowers.
3. The orchard owner will lead participants to pick pears, a type of fruit only harvested in this season. Experience picking pears and eat as much as you like! During the fruit picking, also enjoy tasting chestnuts as a special offer! *See Remarks No. 5.
4. The Ushiku Great Buddha was recognized in 1995 by the Guinness World Records as the tallest standing bronze statue of Buddha in the world. Within the premises surrounding the Ushiku Great Buddha are a petting zoo with cute, furry animals such as squirrels and rabbits, and a brilliant field of cosmos flowers.
5. Have lunch at Chateau Kamiya, Japan’s first full-scale winery designated as an Important Cultural Property. Enjoy a BBQ in a spacious, grassy garden.

Important Notes:
*Seats are assigned on the bus. The National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter will give instructions to participants on the tour day. Seating requests cannot be accepted.
*Smoking is not permitted on the bus.
*The order of activities and arrival times may differ depending on road conditions and congestion at destinations. Note that these will not be accepted as reasons for requesting booking charge refunds.
Children 0-5 years old may join for free, but will not be provided with a seat on the bus or meal. They must sit on the lap of their parent or guardian on board the bus.
Separate fees must be paid for 3- to 5-year-old children for fruit picking, and for children 4 years old to elementary school age for admission to Ushiku Great Buddha. Please pay the National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter at the location on the day.

Ushiku Great Buddha (60 min)
Be in awe of the Buddha statue recognized by Guinness as one of the world’s tallest, and enjoy a stroll around a tranquil garden brimming with the blessings of nature.
Inside the statue of Buddha, take the elevator to the observation deck 85 meters above ground.

Fruit Picking, All-You-Can-Eat (30 min)
Japanese pears are famous for their sweet taste and crisp texture, and are very juicy. Enjoy 30 minutes of all-you-can-eat pears.
Plus! Try tasting chestnuts, a special offer this season.

Reminders for Fruit-picking:
*Large bags are not allowed in the fruit picking area.
*All-you-can-eat applies only to the fruit picking location. Fruit cannot be taken home with you so please consume it during the allotted time.
*If fruits are not ripe for picking due to weather conditions, the tour may be cancelled, or participants may be given a souvenir instead.
*Depending on conditions, chestnuts may not be available for tasting.

Sightseeing & free time for lunch at Hitachi Seaside Park (150 min)
Hitachi Seaside Park is a vast national park of 190 hectares, famous for its beautiful flowers. See an amazing scenery of colorful cosmos flowers, and a whimsical landscape full of kochias (seeds of which are also called “field caviar” because of their texture) which can only be seen at this time.

The tour will still be conducted even if flowers are not in full bloom. In this case, refunds will not be issued.
If the kochias are not at their best viewing time, the group will visit other flower fields such as cosmos.
