[From Apr. 2018] 1-Day Miyajima & Mt. Misen Tour with Hiroshima Specialty Momiji Manju-Making Experience (With English-speaking Interpreter Guide)

1. On this 1-day tour, visit Miyajima, where the World Heritage Site Itsukushima Shrine can be found, together with an interpreter guide, and experience making Hiroshima’s specialty, momiji manju!
2. At Miyajima participants will ride on the ropeway up Mount Misen to see the beautiful view of Miyajima and the Seto Inland Sea.
3. Enjoy making your very own Hiroshima specialty ‘momiji manju,’ a steamed bun filled with azuki bean jam in the shape of a maple leaf. Feel free to enjoy the momiji manju immediately after making, or take it home as a souvenir!

Genbaku Dome-mae to Miyajimaguchi  (50 min)
The tour will be taking the streetcar, beloved by the citizens of Hiroshima.

Miyajimaguchi to Miyajima Pier  (10 min)
JR West Miyajima Ferry or Miyajima Matsudai Kisen

Momijidani Park Entrance  (15 min)

Momijidani Park Entrance to Momijidani Ropeway Station  (10 min)
Take the free shuttle bus to the ropeway entrance

Momijidani Ropeway Station to Shishiiwa Ropeway Station  (15 min)
Depending on the season, Miyajima Ropeway may be crowded, and participants may have to wait.

Shishiiwa Ropeway Station  (20 min)
Momiji Manju-making Experience
*Depending on congestion conditions, the tour may have the experience at Yamadaya (Miyajima Main Store) or at Miyajima Traditional Handicrafts Center, before or after the ropeway ride.

Shishiiwa Ropeway Station to Momijidani Ropeway Station  (20 min)

Momijidani Ropeway Station to Momijidani Park Entrance  (10 min)
Take the free shuttle bus to the Momijidani Park entrance.

Itsukushima Shrine & Miyajima Stroll  (60 min)
Explanations about the World Heritage Site Itsukushima Shrine and Miyajima will be given by the interpreter guide.

4. The order of the itinerary, arrival times, and momiji manju-making venue may differ depending on road conditions and congestion at destinations.

5. Participants under age 6 may not participate in the momiji manju making experience, as there is a risk of burning oneself.

6. Depending on the season, Miyajima Ropeway may be crowded, and participants may have to wait.

7. Large luggage cannot be brought on board. Before joining the tour, please leave large luggage in coin lockers, etc.

8. The tour may be canceled when ropeway operation is suspended due to regular inspection.
