ABOUT THE TOUR

1. This is an unguided tour allowing you to explore the Mt. Koya’s World Heritage Sites on your own.
2. This package includes a bus pass for buses on Mt. Koya and various coupons for discounted admission.
3. Enjoy lunch at Henjoko-in Temple, Eko-in Temple or Tentoku-in Temple where participants can taste authentic Buddhist vegetarian cuisine, and take a tour with guidance in English.

ITINERARY

09:00 –

From Nankai Namba Station to Gokurakubashi Station (90 min)

This is an open-itinerary plan which does not include a guide of any kind. Information on how to pick up your train tickets, the itinerary and an English map will be sent to your accommodation location by the day before the tour. Before boarding the Nankai Electric Railway, go to the Nankai Information Center and pick up your tickets. Ticket pick up is available starting from the day before tour departure.
Participants are free to choose their desired train departure times. However, additional fees will be required for limited express trains (JPY 780/Adult, JPY 390/Child).

From Gokurakubashi Station go to Koyasan Station (5 min)

Sightseeing at Mt. Koya

On this plan participants are free to see the sights on their own, and are provided with discount coupons for various admission fees and a Koyasan bus pass.
Feel free to visit Okunoin (mausoleum of Kukai) and Danjogaran, the heartland of Mt. Koya.

12:30 –

Henjoko-in Temple, Eko-in Temple or Tentoku-in Temple

Eat lunch at Henjoko-in Temple, Eko-in Temple or Tentoku-in Temple (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine), and take a tour with English guidance.

From Koyasan Station to Gokurakubashi Station (5 min)

From Gokurakubashi Station go to Nankai Namba Station (90 min)

Please inform us of the postal code, address, and telephone number of your accommodation location, as well as the name that reservation is under and the check-in date, so that tour documents can be sent. If your accommodation location is a personal residence, please also inform us of the name of the householder.
