World Heritage Shirakami Sanchi Beech Forest Walk Tour with Taxi Service (Round Trip from Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture)

2. Shirakami Sanchi is a vast mountainous area sprawling over the northwestern region of Akita Prefecture and the southwestern region of Aomori Prefecture. As nature in this area remains pristine and nearly untouched by human hands, many animal species such as the Asian black bear, Japanese macaque and golden eagle are able to thrive.
A registered World Heritage Site, this region features a far-reaching distribution of natural beech forests, some of the largest in East Asia. It is highly regarded as extremely valuable even on a global scale.
3. The World Heritage Beech Forest walk features a course that’s easy even for beginners.
4. For the taxi service pick-up and drop-off locations, customers can choose from Hirosaki Station or any of the 8 designated hotels in Hirosaki City.

Board the taxi from one of the following locations: FamilyMart Hirosaki Appliese Branch (immediately on the right from Hirosaki Station Central Exit), Art Hotel Hirosaki City, Dormy Inn Hirosaki, Hotel Route-Inn Hirosaki Ekimae, Hotel Route-Inn Hirosaki-Joto, Hirosaki Park Hotel, Smile Hotel Hirosaki, Hirosaki Plaza Hotel, or Hotel New Castle.

Look for the driver holding a sign with the tour name on it and board the taxi. For participants with suitcases or other pieces of luggage too large to fit in a taxi, please use coin lockers at Hirosaki Station or store at hotel. During the taxi ride, only the Japanese-speaking driver will be on board.

Please prepare a light meal, drink, etc. before going to the meeting location.

Shirakami Sanchi Beech Forest Walk (120 min)
Meet with the Shirakami Sanchi trekking guide (who will be providing explanations) at Aqua Green Village Anmon, the tourist information center at Shirakami Sanchi, then go for a walk. The accompanying guide who is knowledgeable on Shirakami Sanchi will explain all about the surrounding nature’s ecosystem, history and charm.

Please participate in shoes and clothes which are easy to walk in.
