About the tour

1. Take a 2-day sightseeing tour to visit the popular Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, Shirakawago and Hida Takayama areas efficiently by bus.
2. Depart from Shinjuku via bus and jump right into your alpine route trip with no need for transfers. There’s no need to worry about where to store luggage.
3. Stroll through the World Heritage Site Shirakawago and its village of thatched-roof houses, and the historic town of Hida Takayama, locations that are difficult for travelers to reach on their own.
4. On tours departing from April 16 to June 25, participants will also walk through the Snow Corridor (a road flanked by walls of snow that stretches for 500 meters)! The Snow Corridor area gets a lot of snow, and the snow walls may reach up to 20 meters in height.
5. The water spray from the 10 to 15 tons of water cascading through Kurobe Dam every second is a sight to remember! From late June to mid-October, water is specially discharged from the dam everyday as a sightseeing attraction. The foliage of the alpine route begins to turn yellow in mid-September, giving way to a deeper blend of red and orange that can be enjoyed until early November.
6. A minimum of 2 participants is required for tours to run on April 16, 23, 30, May 7, 14, 21, 28, June 4, 11, 18, 25, July 2, August 6, and October 8.

[Clothing & Items to Bring for Each Season]
– April to June
The walking paths in the Murododaira vicinity are buried in snow. The glare from the snow is rather strong, so participants are recommended to bring sunglasses. And, although the temperature can be as low as 5-10 degrees Celsius, when walking around you will warm up, so clothes that are easy to put on and take off (clothes with buttons or zippers on the front) are handy.
– July – September
The temperature ranges between a comfortable 10 and 20 degrees Celsius, but because the sunlight on the mountain is much stronger than you might think, participants are recommended to wear clothing that does not expose much skin and is very breathable. And, because participants may sometimes feel chilly, bringing a windbreaker or jacket is recommended.
– October
The temperature is 10 degrees Celsius or lower, and participants will often feel chilly. Because the Murododaira vicinity may have some light snow, bringing thick clothing is recommended.
– November
The temperature often drops below freezing. Please prepare enough warm winter clothing.
11. 3 guests in 1 room is not permitted. For rooms with 2 guests, guests can choose between twin beds or a double bed. (However, there are a limited amount of double rooms, and additional requests are not allowed.)
12. Children younger than elementary school age (younger than 6 years old) may not join this tour.
