About the tour

Enjoy a guided tour of Nikko Toshogu Shrine led by an English-speaking guide. Then board a bus to Nikko Edomura (Edo Wonderland) where you can enjoy a ninja show, Oiran show and other attractions (Oiran were Edo Period courtesans). This amusement park has an atmosphere of historical Japan.
1. This is a partially guided tour. A guide will accompany the tour until sightseeing at Nikko Toshogu Shrine ends.
2. Enjoy seeing the Ninja show and a recreation of an Edo era town at Nikko Edomura.
3. Free Wi-Fi is available on the tour bus until Nikko Toshogu Shrine.

07:30 – 08:30

Pick-up Service

This tour can be joined from various meeting points mainly located at major hotels throughout Tokyo.
[Remarks] Please be at the pick-up location at least 10 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time.

09:00 –

Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal

Depart from Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal and head to Nikko by bus.
(Metropolitan Expressway, Tohoku Expressway, Nikko Utsunomiya Road)

Nikko Toshogu Shrine

Tour the UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its lavish decorations, ornate details, and five structures categorized as National Treasures of Japan, and an additional three categorized as Important Cultural Properties. This 400 year old shrine houses the remains of Edo period’s founder, Ieyasu Tokugawa. Enjoy seeing the traditional beauty of the main hall, as well as the sleeping cat and 3 monkey carvings.
[Remarks] Yomeimon Gate may be obscured due to restoration work.

13:15 – 13:55

Fujiya Kanko Center

After sightseeing at Nikko Toshogu, please make your way to Fujiya Kanko Center on foot.
A free shuttle bus to Nikko Edomura leaves at 13:15 and 14:45 from Fujiya Kanko Center and takes about 40 minutes.
[Remarks] The English speaking guide will only accompany you from Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal to Nikko Toshogu Shrine and guide your sightseeing there. After that, you will be on your own with no guide.

17:15 –

Nikko Edomura
(180 min)
Enjoy seeing special Oiran shows (similar to geisha), ninja shows, and a replica of an old Edo town. Lunch is not included. Please pay for your own meals.
Take the 17:15 Tobu Dial Bus to Kinugawa Onsen
[Remarks] You will have 100 minutes or 180 minutes at Nikko Edomura depending on which shuttle bus you boarded.

Kinugawa-Onsen Station

Tobu Limited Express Kinu

20:30 – 21:00

Tobu Asakusa Station

The tour ends upon arrival at Asakusa Station. Please head to your hotel or next destination on your own.

Remarks

1. An English-speaking guide accompanies this tour from Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal through the visit to Nikko Toshogu Shrine. After the shrine visit there is no accompanying guide, so please follow the schedule on your own.

2. Admission to Nikko Toshogu Shrine, admission to Nikko Edomura, bus fare to Kinugawa-Onsen Station, and Tobu Limited Express Kinu train fare are included in the booking price. The itinerary and tickets will be given to participants on the tour day.

3. As a bus is used to reach Nikko Toshogu, the arrival time for Toshogu may change, depending on traffic conditions. Sightseeing at Nikko Toshogu Shrine may be shortened due to traffic conditions.

4. A complimentary shuttle bus service transports participants from Fujiya Kanko Center to Nikko Edomura. The bus departure times for Nikko Edomura are 13:15 and 14:45. Depending on the departure time, the stay at Nikko Edomura may have to be shortened. Transportation from Nikko Edomura to the Kinugawa-Onsen Station is by Tobu Dial Bus.

5. Coats or other warm clothing are necessary during spring, autumn, and winter.

6. The tour will walk up and down steps and hilly paths at Nikko Toshogu. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

7. This tour shares bus rides with the Nikko 1-Day tour (F300).

8. An earphone guide will be provided to each participant at Nikko Toshogu. However, this may not apply if there are less than 15 participants.

9. A fee of JPY 10,000 may be incurred if an earphone guide is lost or damaged.

10. After sightseeing at Nikko Toshogu, participants should make their own way to Fujiya Kanko Center. (It takes about 5 min on foot.)

11. Please note that due to repair and restoration work, part or all of Toshogu’s Yomeimon Gate may not be visible.

12. If the minimum number of participants is not met by 4 days before the scheduled date, the tour on that date may be cancelled.
