About the tour

1. Leisurely visit the World Heritage Sites in Nara, including Todai-ji Temple, Kofuku-ji Temple, and Kasuga Taisha Shrine.
2. At the Kasuga Taisha Shrine, special worship services are conducted by Shinto priests or priestesses. The shrine’s Mantoro Lantern Festival held twice a year (in early February and mid-August) draws worshipers and tourists alike with its brilliant lights.
3. Take a walk around Naramachi, a town brimming with rich history.
4. Experience sake tasting in Nara, the birthplace of Japanese sake, while listening to the chief brewer talk about how sake is made.

Todai-ji Temple (70 min)
A World Heritage site. This is the symbol of the Nara Period and one of the world’s largest wooden structures. Its huge main hall and bronze Great Buddha are impressive to behold.

Kofuku-ji Temple (30 min)
A World Heritage site. This temple has over 1,300 years of history. View the numerous temple buildings while walking around the grounds.

Lunch at Hotel Fujita Nara (Japanese-style) (75 min)
Savor a Japanese kaiseki cuisine meal.
